John Preiato

John Preiato is a seasoned prudential regulator and policy manager currently serving as the Managing Director at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada. With a legal background and extensive experience in banking and insurance supervision, John's expertise encompasses operational risk, resilience, recovery, resolution, and culture. Previously, John held various roles, including senior policy officer for the NSW Department of Communities and Justice and policy analyst at APRA, where they contributed significantly to large-scale policy initiatives and legislative reforms. John also has experience in academia, having lectured on bank financial management at UNSW and tutored accounting and finance at The University of Western Australia. Currently, John is pursuing a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law.
