Tamara Gomes

Tamara Gomes currently serves as Managing Director at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada since October 2025. Previously, Tamara held various roles at the Bank of Canada, including Senior Director of Systemic Risk, Assistant Chief of Staff, and Director of Cross Markets Analysis from May 2019 to October 2025. Tamara's experience also includes serving as Director focusing on Market and Liquidity Risk at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada and as a Policy Advisor in the Financial Markets Department at the Bank of Canada. Notably, Tamara was a member of the Secretariat for the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision at the Bank for International Settlements from December 2013 to December 2016. Earlier roles include Senior Analyst at the Bank of Canada and Research Analyst positions at the World Economic Forum and Norges Bank. Tamara holds a Master of Arts in International Economics from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Queen's University.
