Yan Chan

Principal Analyst, Industry Surveillance, Applied Risk Research And Analytics at Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada

Yan Chan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields. They began their career in 2019 at the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) as a Student, where they focused on policy and emerging risks. They then transitioned into the role of Research Officer, specializing in stress testing and valuation, before eventually becoming an Analyst in the same department. In 2023, Yan moved on to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada, assuming the role of Principal Analyst in the Industry Surveillance division. Outside of their financial roles, Yan also worked as a Piano/Violin Teacher at the Ottawa Music Academy from 2018 to 2020.

Yan Chan holds a Master's degree in Economics (Co-op) from the University of Ottawa, which they obtained from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Toronto from 2014 to 2018. In addition to their academic achievements, Yan Chan has also obtained certifications in violin performance, piano performance, and ballet.
