The first microelectronic company in Scandinavia, as A/S Aker Electronics founded in 1965.
Renamed to AME Aksjeselskapet Mikro Elektronikk, Advanced Micro Electronics when owned by Tandberg ASA, then AME AS were purchased by OSI Systems, Inc. the current industrial owner.
The name was changed to OSI Optoelectronics AS in 2006.

Both Sensonor AS and AME Space are daughter companies of AME (1985-86)
