Mark H. has a strong background in the field of biosensors and microfluidics. Mark is currently working as a Principal scientist tech transfer at Osler Diagnostics since January 2020. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies from 2014 to 2020. Mark also worked as a Process Specialist at SPD (P&G/Alere JV, now Abbott) from 2010 to 2014. Before joining SPD, Mark held the role of Team Leader Product Development /microfluidics at Oxford Biosensors from 2002 to 2009. Mark started their career as a Post Doctoral Research Assistant at the University of Oxford in the Department of Engineering Science. Mark also worked as a Research Officer at the University of Ulster, where they were involved in various projects related to the development of biosensors and neural network algorithms. Mark began their research career as a Research Assistant at Northumbria University, focusing on thin film photovoltaic cells.
Mark H. began their education in 1984 at The University of Manchester, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics between 1984 and 1987. Mark then pursued further studies at Lancaster University, completing a Master of Science degree in Physics of Semiconductor Devices from 1988 to 1990. Mark H. continued their academic journey at Northumbria University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics of photovoltaic semiconductors from 1991 to 1995.
