Peter Reader

Peter Reader has a diverse work experience in the field of science and technology. Peter is currently working at Osler Diagnostics, where they hold the position of Lead Scientist since November 2022. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Scientist from June 2021 to December 2022 and as a Scientist from September 2019 to June 2021.

In 2015, Peter founded and served as the webmaster for Reaction Science, an online science magazine that provides scientifically accurate articles for readers with no prior knowledge of the subjects covered. Peter held this role until December 2022.

Before their venture into founding a magazine, Peter worked at John Wiley and Sons as an Application Programmer from May 2015 to September 2015.

In 2014, Peter was a researcher for the Exeter iGEM team, representing the University of Exeter. iGEM is a global synthetic biology competition where teams compete by designing and building novel biological systems. Their role in this team lasted from May 2014 to October 2014.

Peter Reader completed their education in a chronological manner. Peter started by attending West Buckland School from 2006 to 2012, where they pursued A levels in French, Product Design, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics (AS). Following this, they enrolled at the University of Exeter and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological and Medicinal Chemistry from 2012 to 2015. Subsequently, they continued their studies at the same university and earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the field of Protein binding kinetics and biosensor development from 2015 to 2019. Apart from their academic qualifications, Peter Reader also holds an Open Water Scuba Diver certification from PADI, although the specific date of completion is not provided.
