Jorge Ureta is the Head of the International Marine Protection Unit, leveraging 15 years of experience as a policy advisor in the public sector. They held positions such as Chief of the Human Activities Service and international negotiator during Spain's presidency of the Council of the European Union. With a Master's degree in Environmental Management from IUSC and a Bachelor’s in Marine Biology from Universidad de León, Jorge has contributed to various collaborations in environmental protection alongside universities and the European Commission. Currently, they serve as Chair of the OSPAR Commission for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic.
