Mark Bidewell

Mark Bidewell has worked in the software engineering industry since 2005. Mark began their career at Vertasent LLC as a Senior Development Engineer, where they worked on next generation products for Cable MSOs. In 2006, they moved to Motorola as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed and deployed server components to enable improved resource management in the cable industry. In 2009, they joined SeaChange International as a Software Engineer, where they used JAX-RS to implement a RESTful web service for supplying metadata to HTTP-capable clients, and implemented a servlet frontend to support an older HTTP API using Xalan to support server-side template support. Mark also handled team release engineering and deployed an automated build/continuous integration environment using Hudson/Jenkins and Apache Ant. In 2014, they moved to Penn Mutual as a Senior Software Engineer, and in 2022, they joined Ostro as a Senior Software Engineer.

Mark Bidewell holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Clemson University, obtained in 2005, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Bob Jones University, obtained in 2003. Mark also holds certifications from Coursera in Functional Programming Principles in Scala (2014), Pattern-Oriented Software Architectures: Programming Mobile Services for Android Handheld Systems (2014), Programming Mobile Applications for Android Handheld Systems (2014), An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python (2013), and from edX in Software as a Service (2013). Additionally, Mark holds an Oracle Certified Java Programmer certification.
