Benjamin Garman

Benjamin Garman has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Benjamin is currently working at Oteemo Inc. as a Managing Consultant - Software Engineering, where they are responsible for account portfolio management, people management, program/project management, software engineering strategy, operations and support, and hiring and contracting. Benjamin also serves as a software engineering subject matter expert and agile coach, specializing in building cloud native technology solutions in DevSecOps.

Prior to their current role, Benjamin worked at Sutter Health as a Senior Analyst / Technologist, where they led a team for full stack .NET application development, providing technology solutions for a Finance Reimbursement Team. Benjamin also trained and mentored a small development team.

Benjamin has also held positions at RealPage, Inc. and Rentlytics, both Silicon Valley startups focused on business intelligence in the commercial real estate space. In these roles, they provided daily ingestion of property data and developed useful visualizations to assist with decision-making.

Earlier in their career, Benjamin worked at the University of California, Davis as an Interim Program Director / Principal Software Engineer, where they supervised a development team and managed a premier campus student portal. Benjamin also served as a Principal/Senior Software Engineer and was responsible for software architecture and development of a One-Stop-Shop for students. Additionally, they worked on various software development projects at the university, such as custom automated workflows, reporting tools, and student and staff portals.

Benjamin has experience in managing software engineering projects and teams. Benjamin was contracted by the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at UC Davis to develop a data entry and survey system, where they hired and managed a team of student developers and acted as a software architect and lead for the project.

Earlier in their career, Benjamin worked at WebEvents Global, maintaining and enhancing an event management platform used for vendor conferences by SAP Business Solutions worldwide.

Benjamin started their career at Photofast Ltd as a digital typesetter and imaging consultant, specializing in design, photography, photo restoration, and large format media and art replication.

Throughout their career, Benjamin has demonstrated expertise in software engineering, project management, team leadership, and database management. Benjamin has a strong background in full stack development, cloud native technology, and business intelligence in various industries.

Benjamin Garman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Additionally, they have obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Chemistry with a focus on Biological Chemistry, also from the University of California, Davis. Furthermore, Benjamin Garman has gained a certification as a Registered Scrum@Scale Practitioner™ from Scrum Inc. in May 2022.
