Margaret Long

Margaret Long is an experienced shop manager and senior fabricator currently overseeing operations at Otherlab since February 2020, where a focus is placed on efficient management and safety compliance. As a self-employed leader at Margaret Long Industrial Arts since September 2018, Margaret has successfully directed fabrication and art projects, collaborating with engineers and managing volunteer teams. Previous roles include Campus Project Lead at The Exploratorium and Senior Heavy Equipment Operator and Rigger at Black Rock City LLC, highlighting expertise in heavy equipment operations and problem-solving. Earlier career achievements include serving as Shop Manager at American Steel Studios, encompassing facilities management, event production, and safety protocol development. Margaret is currently pursuing education at Laney College following studies at Antioch College from 1999 to 2002.
