Mark McCabe

Mark McCabe currently serves as a Scientific (Medical) Advisor in Nephrology/Immunology at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. since April 2024. Prior to this role, Mark held various positions at Takeda, including Senior Medical Science Liaison and Medical Science Liaison in Gastroenterology from June 2019 to March 2024. Mark has an academic background as a Conjoint Senior Lecturer (Honorary) at UNSW, where responsibilities included supervising Honours and PhD projects and teaching scientific writing. At the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Mark was a Senior Research Officer & Career Development Research Fellow, contributing to the establishment of a biotechnology company for genetic sequencing. Earlier experience includes research at UCL, focusing on genetic disorders, and foundational roles in customer service and management at Andrew's Chicken Joint and McDonald's. Mark earned a PhD in Applied Biology/Biotechnology from RMIT University, complementing earlier degrees in the same field.
