Jose Gonzalez serves as the Head of Research at Ottobock from September 2017 to the present, having previously held the role of Research and Innovation Manager in Global Research. Prior experience includes a position as a Researcher at Instituto Cajal, CSIC from October 2014 to September 2017, where research focused on Natural Human-Machine Interaction and Robot Control. Jose also worked as a Post Doctoral Researcher at Technaid SL and the Bioengineering group of CSIC, specializing in lower limb rehabilitation and robot human-like gait, and held a Post Doctoral Research position at the Research Center for Frontier Medical Engineering at Chiba University, focusing on Prosthetic Technologies and Neuro-Rehabilitation Systems. Additionally, Jose was a Visiting Post Doc Researcher in the Department of Neurorehabilitation Engineering at University Medical Center Göttingen and contributed as an Automation Control Engineer at Sistemas-IQ S.A. Jose holds a Ph.D. and an MSc. in Medical System Engineering from Chiba University and a Licentiate in Electronic Engineering from Tecnológico de Costa Rica.
