Thomas Pickerill

Research Engineer

Thomas Pickerill is a skilled Research Engineer at Ottobock since April 2020, contributing to the design and development of mechatronic prosthetic limbs as part of a multidisciplinary research team within the Center for Bionic Medicine. Previously, Thomas served as Mechanical Engineer III and II at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, formerly known as Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where responsibilities included the design and prototyping of mechanisms and electro-mechanical systems. Earlier experience includes roles at Baxter Healthcare Biosurgery, focusing on surgical devices, and Siemens, working on locomotive engineering. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and has studied at the Technical University of Munich.
