🌿 OurPlace Learning Community provides a distinctive, high-quality provision for young people aged 11–17 across Brighton, Hove and Sussex who are unable to thrive in traditional school environments.

We offer a nurturing, inclusive and creative setting where learners can rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and develop the skills they need for life, further study and employment.

Following Quality Assurance by Brighton & Hove City Council, OurPlace will be recognised as a trusted alternative education provider. This enables schools and local authorities to commission places for students who need a more flexible, person-centred approach - ensuring that families do not bear the cost of provision.

Our model combines personalised learning, autonomy and collaboration to help young people rediscover curiosity, purpose and self-belief:

Personalised Learning: Each learner follows an individualised pathway that reflects their interests, strengths and goals.

Autonomy: Students take ownership of their learning, supported by experienced Learning Advisers who guide and scaffold progress.

Collaboration & Empowerment: Through shared projects and community decision-making, young people learn responsibility, empathy and resilience.

Whether the focus is academic progress, emotional recovery or vocational exploration, OurPlace provides a safe, structured and inspiring environment where every student can belong and succeed.

We are committed to partnership working with schools, parents and professionals to deliver education that is accessible, restorative and transformative — helping every young person find their place, their confidence and their future.
