Derek Yap

Derek Yap is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in mechanical and thermal design across various industries. Currently serving as a Staff Hardware Engineer on the Mechanical & Thermal Design Team at General Motors, Derek has also founded Outlinx, a company that merges mobile applications with decorative QR Smart Stickers for linking digital notes to physical objects. Previous roles include Staff Mechanical Engineer at BrightDrop, Lead Mechanical Engineer at Ronin Product Development Labs, and Senior Product Designer at GoPro, where Derek contributed to key product designs and team leadership. Additionally, experience includes positions at Apple Inc., Palm, SurfaceInk, and Bishop-Wisecarver Corp. Derek holds a degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.
