Outrun the Sun, Inc. (OTS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to skin cancer education and melanoma research. To date, OTS has supported the work of 34 melanoma research scientists at leading medical institutions across the United States in their search for new treatments and a cure.

Building on its commitment to prevention and early detection, OTS created a novel, comprehensive skin cancer curriculum for medical schools. The curriculum is designed to teach all medical students how to recognize skin cancer in its earliest stages, leading to improved patient outcomes. The program has been shared with more than 100 schools of medicine in the United States and in seven additional countries.

In partnership with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, various racing teams, and drivers, OTS helped launch the largest one-day sun safety initiative in the nation, held annually at the historic Indianapolis 500.

OTS also delivers sun safety education to youth through the creation of a sun safety patch program now used by Girl Scout councils nationwide. In addition, Outrun the Sun partners with Music for All/Bands of America to reach students involved in marching band programs and is developing an educational program with the National FFA Organization to engage students preparing for agricultural-related careers.
