Outset Ventures is Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading deep-technology incubator and venture investor, built to support founders turning breakthrough science and engineering into globally significant companies.

Our mission is simple: help exceptional deep-tech founders move from complex ideas to real-world impact — accelerating the journey from lab to market and connecting New Zealand innovation to international capital and opportunity.

Outset operates New Zealand’s only dedicated deep-tech venture campus, with flexible laboratory, prototyping, and workshop facilities designed specifically for early-stage science and engineering ventures.

With more than two decades of on-site technology commercialisation, our community has helped launch globally recognised companies including Rocket Lab, LanzaTech and Mint Innovation. Today, we continue to work alongside founders at the frontier of aerospace, energy, advanced materials and next-generation engineering.

As investors and operators, we bring hands-on experience, deep technical networks, and a long-term commitment to building enduring companies from this part of the world.
