Caio S Chaves has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. In 2016, they worked as a Summer Intern at IBM, where they participated in a project focused on developing a machine intelligence algorithm using a bipedal walking robot. Their responsibilities included motion controller programming, electronics circuit design, and data analysis.
In 2017, Caio joined MTE-THOMSON as an Engineering Intern. Caio contributed to the development of original machinery and new products, notably participating in the conception, mechatronic project, and implementation of an autonomous machine for sorting electronic components.
From 2020 to 2021, Caio worked at Groupe Renault as an R&D Intern. Caio focused on researching and developing perception algorithms for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD). Their role also involved working with data fusion from various sensors like cameras, LiDAR, and RADAR.
Starting in 2021, Caio joined AVSimulation as an R&D Engineer. Caio participated in three collaborative research projects, aiming to promote the use of simulation tools in designing, developing, and validating autonomous mobility systems.
Most recently, Caio is working as a System Integration Engineer at Outsight, starting in 2023.
Throughout their career, Caio has showcased their expertise in engineering, research and development, and data fusion, with a focus on autonomous mobility systems.
Caio S Chaves completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from ENSTA Paris, from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from USP - Universidade de São Paulo, spanning from 2012 to 2017. Additionally, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from UC San Diego, which took place from 2015 to 2016.
Furthermore, Caio obtained several certifications, including "Visual Perception for Self-Driving Cars" from Coursera in December 2020, "Generate Synthetic Images with DCGANs in Keras" from Coursera in October 2020, and "Introduction to Self-Driving Cars" from Coursera in October 2020. Caio also achieved a test score of 643/699 (C2 level) in the "Test de connaissances du français" from the Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) in April 2019. Moreover, they earned a score of 95 out of 120 in the TOEFL iBT in October 2014, demonstrating proficiency in English.
