João Batista

João Batista has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. João began their career as a Junior Software Developer at In4Tools in 2004 and proceeded to work as a Full Stack Software Developer and Team Lead, specializing in .NET applications and SQL Server. In 2012, they transitioned to OutSystems, taking on the role of a Development Team Lead. Here, they managed a team of developers, oversaw code reviews, and ensured the successful deployment of solutions. In 2017, they became a Principal System Owner at OutSystems, responsible for the architecture and training of several teams. Currently, João is the Director of Engineering at OutSystems, where they lead 11 teams and oversees various aspects such as hiring, coaching, roadmap alignment, and enforcing best practices. Throughout their career, João has successfully grown teams, mentored engineers, and implemented efficient processes.

João Batista obtained a Licenciatura degree in Engenharia Informática from Universidade Nova de Lisboa between 1997 and 2004. João also holds additional certifications, including Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from Scrum Alliance in 2016, and a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) from Microsoft in 2008. João has obtained other certifications as well, including "Leading with a Heavy Heart" and "Be the Manager People Won't Leave" from LinkedIn, and an Outsystems Professional Developer certification from OutSystems.
