Luis Silva

Luis Silva has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Luis began their career as an Intern in Technician in I.T. Management at Ricarte Informática, where they gained experience in computer sales, repairs, and website maintenance. Luis then worked as a Modeling Financial Invest to Neural Network at GoBusiness Finance, creating a language to parse investment models into neural networks.

Moving forward, Luis joined iNOVAfuture as a Member, where they contributed to a proof of concept project combining electronic materials and cork. Luis later served as the Vice President of the Committee of Residents at Residência Fraústo da Silva from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

Luis then joined Spindler Startup as the CTO, taking a leadership role in the company. Luis later transitioned to Altran Portugal as a Jr. Consultant, working on their dissertation in partnership with the Portuguese National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) to estimate the number of fatalities in road accidents.

At Feedzai, Luis started as a Data Scientist in the research team before moving to the delivery team, where they focused on winning proof of concepts. Luis later joined the Data Science Engineering team, providing support to Delivery and Customer Success teams and creating Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) based on successful research projects.

Luis also worked at Rumos - Portugal as an Invited Professor in Data Science Post-Graduation, teaching modules on Python programming and data collection methodologies.

Currently, Luis is at OutSystems, starting as a Senior Research Scientist in the AI group and being one of the first employees. Luis then transitioned to the role of Senior AI Engineer, responsible for developing and maintaining tooling for the AI group. Currently, Luis serves as the Team Lead for the AI Platform, where they lead the team in building a state-of-the-art platform and defining internal MLOps processes.

Throughout their career, Luis has demonstrated a strong background in data science, research, AI, and low-code development.

Luis Silva obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa in 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the same institution from 2009 to 2012. Luis'seducation history also includes a Level-three Vocational Course in I.T. Management from Escola E.B. 2, 3/S Josefa de Óbidos from 2006 to 2009. In addition to their degrees, Luis has obtained several certifications, including Docker Mastery, Kubernetes for App Developers, Deep Learning Specialization, Design Patterns, Object-Oriented Design, Introduction to Big Data with Apache Spark, R Programming, and The Data Scientist's Toolbox.
