Rui Covelo

Rui Covelo has a diverse work experience in various companies. Rui began their career as a System Engineer at Banco BPI in 2004 and worked there until 2011. From 2011 to 2014, Rui worked as an IT Specialist at IBM. Rui then joined OutSystems in 2014 and held multiple roles, including Lead Software Engineer, Security System Owner, and Principal Product Architect. Rui'sresponsibilities at OutSystems primarily involved promoting security best practices, driving the Secure Software Development Lifecycle, and defining the platform product architecture. In 2021, Rui took on the positions of Principal Cloud Product Security Engineer and currently serves as the Principal Security Architect at OutSystems.

Rui Covelo completed a 5-year Licenciatura degree in Electronics and Computers Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico from 1997 to 2005. Additionally, they obtained various certifications in fields such as AWS security, threat modeling, OWASP, customer service, and personal development in 2022.
