Sofie Bouteligier is currently the Head of the International Policy Unit at OVAM. They previously served as a Policy Advisor in the same unit from 2012 to 2022, and held a postdoctoral position at the Environmental Policy Group at Wageningen University in 2011 to 2012. They also worked as a research fellow at the Institute for International and European Policy at K.U. Leuven from 2006 to 2011, focusing on global environmental governance and urbanization. In addition, Sofie was a visiting scholar at the Global Cities Institute at RMIT University in 2010. Sofie earned two Master's degrees from K.U. Leuven, one in International Relations and Conflict Management and another in History.
