Derek Rysavy

Derek Rysavy is an experienced educator and technical specialist with a diverse background in teaching and technical roles. Currently, Derek serves as an Academic Advisor and Teacher at the Overseas Family School, focusing on IB Theory of Knowledge and IGCSE Economics since August 2022. Previously, Derek taught various subjects, including Business, Accounting, Marketing, Computer Science, and Geography, at Sunway International School from January 2019 to August 2022. Derek's earlier career includes technical positions at Element Technical Services Inc. and Canyon Technical Services Ltd., as well as a role as a Field Technologist at Welltec. Additionally, Derek served as a Junior Officer in the Canadian Forces from January 2007 to March 2011. Derek's educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Education from The University of British Columbia, a Diploma in Petroleum Technology from SAIT, a Master's degree in International Trade, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan.
