Surya Krishnan

Surya K. has a wealth of experience in deep learning and computer vision. In 2021, they are currently a Deep Learning Engineer at Overview. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Deep Learning Engineer at Johnson & Johnson, where they lead the effort to build a deep learning and computer vision based defect detection system. In 2020, they were a Principal Data Scientist at Safeo, where they designed and built a computer vision based platform that helps companies get insights about employee and customer safety. In 2019, they were a Machine Learning Intern at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, where they worked with Marine Biologists to build a vision system that continuously monitors the ocean for poisonous algae presence. In 2018, they were a Cofounder at Betoken, and a Machine Learning Intern at Locbit, where they built machine learning models that predict the client buildings' energy usage for any given day. In 2017, they were a SPI Labs Fellow at SPI Cinemas Private Limited, where they helped design and built a prototype of the software that was used to implement an autonomous management structure in the company.

Surya K. attended Bala Vidya Mandir from 2011 to 2013. From 2014 to 2017, they attended The Webb Schools and graduated with a High School degree. Surya then attended UC San Diego from 2017 to 2021, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
