Zane Lay

Zane Lay is a seasoned professional in surface land negotiations and management, currently serving as a Senior Surface Land Negotiator at Ovintiv since June 2021. With an extensive background at Caerus Oil and Gas LLC, starting in July 2017, Zane has held multiple roles including Surface Land Manager and Surface Lead Landman. Prior experience at Encana Corporation from 2005 to 2017 involved negotiating agreements for surface use, pipeline, and access rights of way across key operational areas such as the Piceance Basin and Wind River Basin. Zane's responsibilities have consistently included serving as a liaison between landowners, communities, and regulatory agencies, with a foundational academic background in Exercise Physiology from the University of Wyoming, where a Bachelor's degree was earned between 1996 and 2000.
