Timothy Barfoot

Distinguished Engineer

Timothy Barfoot is a Professor and IEEE Fellow with extensive experience in higher education and research in the fields of Computer Vision, Robotics, Navigation, State Estimation, and Control Theory. Timothy holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto, where they have contributed as both an Assistant and Associate Professor, and currently serve as a Professor focusing on the visual navigation of mobile robots for diverse applications. Additionally, Timothy holds the position of Editor in Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Field Robotics and is a Distinguished Engineer at Oxa, working on autonomous vehicles. Previously, Timothy worked at MDA and Apple, focusing on R&D projects related to mobile robotics and autonomous systems.
