Lee Clement is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in machine learning and software development, particularly in the field of autonomous vehicles. As a Staff Engineer and Tech Lead Manager at Oxa since November 2019, Lee has focused on system architecture and machine learning for Level 4 Universal Autonomy, and previously led the Prediction team. Prior to this role, Lee contributed to multi-object tracking and motion prediction for autonomous vehicles. Lee's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Mobile Robotics from the University of Toronto, where research centered on deep learning for visual navigation in mobile robots, along with teaching and mentoring roles. Additional expertise includes serving as a Postgraduate Affiliate at the Vector Institute, and as a Subject Matter Expert for the Self-Driving Cars Specialization on Coursera. Lee also co-founded SEDS Canada, supporting initiatives in the Canadian space sector, and has held research assistant positions at renowned institutions such as Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Manitoba.
