General Counsel & Secretary at Oxbow

David (Dave) Clark joined Oxbow Carbon LLC in January 2004 as Legal Counsel, and was appointed General Counsel and Secretary in February 2016. A native of Manchester, England, Mr. Clark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Princeton University in 1975, and a Juris Doctor degree from Duke University School of Law in 1978.

Mr. Clark originally became associated with the Oxbow companies in October 1989. In his role as Counsel to Oxbow Corporation, he represented that company for over thirteen years in connection with its successful independent power business. After Oxbow sold its independent power assets, Mr. Clark briefly served at FPL Energy LLC (now NextEra Energy, Inc.) as Senior Attorney to its wind power generation business. Since that time he has been actively involved in the negotiation of most major Oxbow Carbon acquisition, sale and financing transactions.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Clark served as in-house counsel to Hadson Power Systems Incorporated, a publicly-traded independent power developer based in Irvine, California. Prior to joining Hadson, he was an associate at Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges in Los Angeles, California, acting as loaned in-house counsel to one of the firm’s major energy clients. He also served eleven years on the city council of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, including one year as its mayor.

Mr. Clark is licensed to practice law in Florida, California and Colorado.
