Peter Owuor

Peter Owuor, PhD, is an accomplished materials engineer with expertise in the development of advanced materials for energy storage and structural applications. Currently serving as the Battery Anode Materials Development Manager at Oxbow since January 2025, Peter leads a team focused on high-performance anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Previously, as a Materials Scientist at Morgan Advanced Materials, significant contributions were made in the R&D of carbon and ceramic materials. Peter's earlier experience includes research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where efforts centered on sustainable carbon fiber precursors, and academic research at Rice University and Tuskegee University, focusing on innovative composite materials. Educational credentials include a PhD in Materials Engineering from Rice University, an MSc in Materials Science and Engineering from Tuskegee University, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Egerton University.
