Robert J. Hurst has served on the Board of Oxbow Carbon LLC since 2007. Mr. Hurst joined Crestview Partners, a private equity firm, as a partner in 2005 and is a member of the Investment Committee. He retired as Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs in June 2004. At Goldman Sachs, Mr. Hurst spent thirty years in a variety of leadership positions, including head of the investment banking division from 1990 to 1999. Following Goldman Sachs’ IPO, he became a Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors and focused on firm-wide matters in addition to client responsibilities. Mr. Hurst has served on the boards of directors of numerous public and private companies. He has been active in the nonprofit sector and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aspen Music Festival and School, Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Whitney Museum of American Art, a Trustee of The Aspen Institute, Chairman Emeritus of the Jewish Museum and is a former member of the Board of Overseers of the Wharton School. Mr. Hurst is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He was also founding CEO of the 9/11 United Services Group, the coordinating arm for thirteen social service agencies involved in the relief activities, including the Red Cross. Mr. Hurst received his M.B.A. from the Wharton School and his A.B. from Clark University. He did additional graduate work as a Public Finance Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania.
