Fernand Pillonel is the CEO of OXUS Development Network and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at OXUS Kyrgyzstan, OXUS Tajikistan, and OXUS Afghanistan. Since 2018, they have led the development of microfinance institutions in Central Asia, focusing on economic growth and civil society. Previously, Pillonel served as Country Manager for the EBRD in multiple Central Asian countries and as General Director of ECOM Tajikistan, where they enhanced agricultural finance and trade. Their early career included humanitarian work during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan and involvement in establishing a foreign direct investment bank in Kyrgyzstan. Pillonel earned a Master's degree in Political Science from the Université de Genève.
