Sergey Saiyan has had a variety of roles in their work experience. Sergey started their career as a Software Engineer at Haulmont from 2013 to 2015, where they worked on the development of a document automation system called Thesis.
In 2015, Sergey joined AmazingHiring as a Software Engineer, where they developed crawler infrastructure and expanded the company's presence to EU and US regions. Later, they took on the role of Engineering Team Lead / Principal Engineer, where they worked on big data, NoSQL, and map reduce projects.
Since 2020, Sergey has been working at OZON.ru. Sergey started as an Engineering Manager, leading a search department and being responsible for various search-related tasks. Sergey then became the Director of Engineering, Search, leading three departments with multiple engineering teams and overseeing key product launches. Currently, Sergey is the VP of Product and Engineering, focusing on Search, Ads, RecSys, and ML Infrastructure, as well as handling tech and product management responsibilities.
Sergey Saiyan completed their Specialist degree in Automated Systems for Data and Processes Management at Samara State Aerospace University from 2009 to 2014. Sergey also obtained the certifications of Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer, and Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 Programmer from Oracle in 2015.
