Robert Jones has a extensive work experience in the technology industry. Robert began their career in 1997 at DreamQuest Images, a visual effects studio, where they served as a Sr. Systems Administrator. During their time there, they implemented systems to optimize computing resources and expanded the render farm's capabilities. In 1999, they joined Disney Television Animation / Disneytoon Studios as a Sr. Systems Administrator, and later transitioned to the role of Systems Architect. In this position, they maintained and supported a mixed technology network for animation production and designed a pipeline to support the production of one feature length movie per week. Jones then moved to The Walt Disney Company in 2009 as a Sr. Systems Architect, before joining Disneytoon Studios as a Manager, Technology in 2007. In this role, they provided technical support, investigated new technologies, and ensured business continuity during structural changes. Jones re-joined Disneytoon Studios in 2009 as a Senior Systems Architect, where they designed and implemented systems to support the production of theatrical animated movies. Robert also acted as the final tier technical support for the studio. In 2015, Jones joined SMCI as a Sr. Systems Engineer, and later joined P1 Technologies as a Principal Systems Engineer. In this role, they specialize in storage, networking, cloud environments, high-performance computing, and the Media and Entertainment vertical. Robert'sresponsibilities include meeting with customers, developing solutions, providing ongoing support, and maximizing the value of customer purchases.
Robert Jones attended Augustana College from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Robert'sfield of study included Math, Computer Science, and Physics.
In addition to their undergraduate education, Robert has obtained various certifications in the field of Information Technology. Robert received the Specialist - Implementation Engineer, PowerScale certification from Dell EMC in January 2021. Prior to that, they obtained the Qumulo Certified Storage Professional certification from Qumulo, Inc. in March 2018. In November 2017, they became a VMware Certified Professional 6 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV) through VMware. Robert also received the VMware Certified Professional 6 - Network Virtualization (VCP6-NV) certification from VMware in November 2015.
Robert further enhanced their professional credentials with the EMC Implementation Engineer - Isilon certification from EMC in May 2015. Robert obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in August 2018, and the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate certification from AWS in November 2016. Furthermore, they gained the CCDA certification from Cisco in September 2018, and the CCNA Routing & Switching certification from Cisco in September 2015. Finally, they attained the Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect certification from Google Cloud in February 2018.
