Bert Vaessens

Bert Vaessens is an experienced project manager currently working at P2 | Regisseurs van een betere toekomst since September 2021 and serving as an Opgave adviseur Bereikbaarheid at Gemeente Utrecht from February 2022. In this role, Bert leads the Mobiliteitshub XL project in Utrecht Papendorp, facilitating area developments with infrastructure supporting 2000 car parking spaces, 1700 bike parking spaces, public transport, a bike repair shop, and a gym. Prior experience includes a tenure at Gemeente Rotterdam as Programmamanager fietsinfra, overseeing improvements to the cycling infrastructure, and at NS Stations for over a decade, where responsibilities encompassed vision, strategy, innovation in Auto Services, and project management for various station developments and parking expansions. Bert holds a Doctorandus degree in Geography from Utrecht University, attained from 2000 to 2005.
