Stephen Leach

Stephen Leach is a seasoned meteorologist with extensive experience in fire weather forecasting and aviation meteorology. Currently serving as the Principal Meteorologist at PacifiCorp since August 2021, Stephen previously worked for the Bureau of Land Management from November 2002 to August 2021, where responsibilities included forecasting weather conditions affecting wildfire behavior in Northern California. Prior to this role, Stephen contributed to the National Weather Service in various capacities from 1993 to 2002, producing fire weather forecasts for central and Southern California, as well as general forecasts for a broad region from Bishop, CA to Kingman, AZ. Stephen's earlier experience includes serving as an aviation forecaster for the Alaska Aviation Weather Unit and a meteorologist intern at WSO Austin, TX. Educated at Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, Stephen brings a comprehensive understanding of meteorological principles and their applications.
