Justin Shultz has extensive experience in the field of building performance analysis. Justin currently holds the position of Lead Building Performance Analyst at Page Southerland Page, Inc. where they are responsible for leading building performance analyses for the company and promoting data-driven design for improved sustainability, resiliency, and healthy outcomes. Prior to this, they worked at EYP as both a Lead Building Performance Analyst and a Senior Building Performance Analyst, Associate Principal. In these roles, they provided architects, engineers, and clients with quantified results for energy, daylighting, occupant comfort, and total cost of ownership. Justin also had experience in developing building energy models, completing daylighting analyses, and supporting LEED projects. Justin also gained research experience during their time at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a Research Assistant, where they developed computational system models for building envelope systems and conducted simulations for dynamic fenestration and building integrated systems. Justin also worked as a Sustainable Engineering Intern at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), where they focused on climate analysis, building energy modeling, and daylighting simulations. Additionally, they have experience in sales and marketing roles at NextGen Healthcare Information Systems and NextGen Healthcare. Justin Shultz obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Energy Engineering from Penn State University, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Architectural Sciences and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2012 to 2018. In addition to their degrees, Justin has obtained the Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP) certification from ASHRAE in September 2019, and they also acquired a PhD in Architecture Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in March 2018.
