Brian Crawford

Brian Crawford possesses extensive expertise in plant genetics, currently serving as the Trait Genetics Strategy Project Lead at Pairwise since May 2018, where responsibilities have included project leadership and discovery work. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at UC San Diego from June 2004 to May 2018, first as a Project Scientist, where Brian uncovered a new genetic pathway patterning stem cells in plants, and earlier as a Postdoctoral Scholar, utilizing a systems biology approach to explore plant fertilization. Additionally, Brian worked as an Associate Scientist at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies from August 2011 to October 2012, employing next-generation sequencing technologies to study genetic control of stem cell identity in plants. Educational achievements include a PhD in Plant Genetics from the John Innes Centre and a Bachelor's degree in Genetics from The University of Edinburgh.
