Joseph Watts

Joseph Watts is an accomplished biochemist and leader with extensive experience in protein science and biochemistry. Since November 2018, Joseph has served as Associate Director and Protein Science Lead at Pairwise, where a world-class team was developed to create CRISPR-based enzymes for precise DNA modifications. Prior to this, Joseph held various roles at Syngenta from January 2009 to November 2018, including Senior Team Leader and Senior Research Scientist. Early career experiences include a position as a Scientist at BD Technologies, postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina, and graduate research at Virginia Commonwealth University. Joseph has contributed to significant publications, including research on HIV viral RNA, and holds degrees in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Biology from esteemed institutions. Joseph also has a background in emergency response as a Surf Rescue Technician at Ocean City Beach Patrol.
