Palaver Institute is a Pan-African research and learning community advancing grassroots wisdom, open dialogue, and the co-creation of knowledge. Rooted in Africa’s palaver tradition of shared understanding and consensus, the Institute bridges academia, indigenous thought, policy, and impact on African issues to shape ethical, inclusive, and sustainable futures. 

Through research fellowships, publications, and interdisciplinary collaboration on community impact with key stakeholders, we cultivate new pathways for African-led knowledge and leadership.

Palaver is the first and only large-scale, independent African research institution explicitly dedicated to decolonizing knowledge production by centering African wisdom as science, with elite in-house researchers selected across the world from thousands across multi-disciplinary fields.
