We noticed a need in our communities.

Across North America, social services are questioning why technology that should serve communities often ends up extracting from them. We're part of this broader conversation, but our focus is specific.

Those closest to the work should shape the tools they use. What gets built should stay with the communities that helped create it.

Working with community has taught us what matters. Nonprofit structure, multi-year agreements, open licensing, relationship-centered contracts. The kinds of decisions that keep the work accountable to the people it's for.

Sustainable technology starts with trust.

PAL Teams — Technical staff work alongside yours on multi-year partnerships. We build software, data systems, reporting tools, cloud infrastructure. But before we build anything, we learn how your programs run and what your team needs. The understanding comes first. The technology follows.

PAL Research — Knowledge transfer through proven solutions. What survives daily use gets generalized and released under open license. The patterns, not your data. Every partnership is an investment in the sector, not just one organization.

PAL Labs — Connects students and newcomers to organizations that have genuine needs and the infrastructure to support them. Every placement is scoped, mentored, and built to leave something the organization can use.

Each part sustains the others. Teams does the foundational work. Research generalizes what survives daily use and releases it to the sector. Labs builds on that foundation to add capacity and grow local expertise.
