Palm Oil+ | Making Palm Oil Regenerative

Palm Oil+ is an initiative dedicated to transforming palm oil production from degenerative to regenerative.
Our mission goes beyond cultivating oil palms in Dynamic Agroforestry systems — it includes integrating biochar production, biogas recovery, and nutrient cycling to create closed-loop, climate-positive systems.

Founded by a team of students in the Master’s Program “Preneurship for Regenerative Food Systems (PREFS)” at ZHAW, Palm Oil+ emerged as a collaborative Agro Food Project in 2024.

As part of the association Árbol co(n)razón, in our pilot project we work with Ecuadorian NGOs and the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIAP) to establish the first oil-palm-based Dynamic Agroforestry systems in Ecuador.

Our vision: a palm oil value chain that not only avoids deforestation but actively restores ecosystems, regenerates soils, captures carbon, and closes nutrient cycles — making palm oil truly nature-positive.
