Head of Product Management at Pandion

Sam Carter is currently the Head of Product Management at Pandion. Prior to this, Sam served as the Software Engineering Manager for ControlPoint at Micro Focus. In this role, Sam managed the worldwide development teams in Boston, Belfast, and Bangalore for ControlPoint, an information governance application which allows IT departments to find and clean up redundant, obsolete, and trivial data, as well as locate and secure sensitive personal information across the enterprise to provide compliance with GDPR and similar regulations.

Under Sam's leadership, the team was responsible for all new feature releases, patches, and customer escalations. Sam regularly met with customers both remotely and onsite to deliver solutions that met their needs. As an example of Sam's customer focus, when faced with a very unhappy customer who was attempting to load 400 TB of data into their system, which was under performing and experiencing frequent outages, Sam led the effort that brought the customer's satisfaction from red to green by eliminating the outages and increasing throughput 6-fold. Over the course of six months, This customer went from initiating the process for terminating our contract to agreeing to a cross-sales opportunity.

The development team Sam managed was Agile based, using C#, Java, and C++, with Autonomy IDOL as the underlying platform for search & data processing.

Sam Carter's educational career began at Rice University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Sam then attended St. Ignatius College Preparatory, where they graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Sam Carter reports to Scott Ruffin, Founder & CEO. They work with Lori Tenan - CRO, Viplav Mishra - VP, Engineering, and Jeffrey Petersen - SVP.
