Brian Lawrence

Brian Lawrence is an accomplished leader in the biomedical field, currently serving as Chief Scientific Officer at SILKTEARS, INC. since January 2023 and as Chief Executive Officer of SilkTech Biopharmaceuticals since November 2013. With a strong focus on the therapeutic applications of anti-inflammatory silk-derived proteins, Brian has guided diverse teams to innovative successes. As a founding member and Program Lead of StartX since February 2021, Brian collaborates with a network of entrepreneurs and experts to foster collective achievements. Additionally, Brian has contributed to the development of silk-based medical solutions as CEO of SERYX BIOMEDICAL, INC., and has an extensive educational background with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University. Brian's research interests have included the design of biopolymers for vision health applications and the advancement of new materials for ocular regeneration.
