Chad Schepel

Chad Schepel has extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Chad is currently employed as a Principal Engineer at Panthalassa since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at BLUE ORIGIN in various roles, including BE-3U Chief Engineer and New Glenn 1st Stage Chief Engineer. In these positions, they were involved in the design and development of rocket engines and launch vehicles, management of risk, and overall systems engineering. Chad also held leadership roles as Deputy Element Lead Mission Operations, Product Group Lead for Engines Turbomachinery & Mechanisms, and Product Group Lead for Vehicle Fluid Systems. Before joining BLUE ORIGIN, they worked at Aerojet Rocketdyne as a Combustion Devices Development Engineer, where they contributed to the design and manufacturing of combustion chambers and managed design projects for engine upgrades.

Chad Schepel completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University from 1993 to 1998. Chad then pursued a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Composites Design and Fabrication at UCLA from 2003 to 2005.
