🦁 PANTHERA AFRICA is a non-profit, ethical big cat sanctuary inspired by a passion for the four pantheras: lions, leopards, tigers and jaguars. We rescue animals from unsuitable and abusive conditions and provide them with a forever home and lifetime care. We expose the cruelty of the captive lion industry and raise awareness for captive big cats.

Not all sanctuaries are the same - and not all sanctuaries help animals in the way you think they do. In fact, some can do the exact opposite. We teach you what it means to be a true, ethical sanctuary and how to recognise the differences. We empower you to understand the truth, spot the warning signs and support places that genuinely protect big cats.

Located near Stanford in the Western Cape, South Africa, we are open for visits by PRE-BOOKING only.
