Alec Beals is an experienced concept artist with a diverse background in the gaming industry. They began their career as an intern at Guild Software, Inc. and GameMasterz in 2014. They then worked as a contract concept artist at Playcorp in 2015 and Hidden Path Entertainment in 2016, where they contributed to the creation of player pickups, props, weapons, and environment designs for VR games. In the same year, Alec also worked as a contract concept artist at MASS VR, collaborating with non-art departments to convey concepts to management and investors.
In 2018, Alec joined Age of Eternity as a primary concept artist, collaborating with the art director to design the visual direction for four distinct factions. They also developed modular character and hard surface designs for 3D modeling and physical production, and performed marketing illustration and graphic design roles.
From 2019 to 2020, Alec worked as the primary concept artist at Dark Catt Studios, contributing their artistic skills to the development of various projects. Currently, Alec is employed at Paradox Interactive as a concept artist, although specific details about their role and responsibilities have not been provided.
Alec Beals pursued their education in the field of art and design. Starting in 2011, they attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design for three years and focused on illustration. Following this, in 2014, Alec enrolled in the Gnomon School of Visual Effects, Games + Animation, where they specialized in Concept Art under the Entertainment Design program.
