Jared Smith has a wide range of experience in the field of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and JavaScript development. jared began their career in 2008 as a GIS Engineer in the US Army, where they worked on various projects including creating maps and overlays, coordinating data between military and civilian sectors, and conducting field surveys. jared also gained experience with Arc GIS 9 during their time in the Army. In 2014, they joined Leidos as a Geospatial Analyst before transitioning to Booz Allen Hamilton in 2015 as a GIS database manager. In this role, they developed GIS solutions using NodeJs, created webmaps with dynamic features, and transformed shapefiles to geojson and topojson using open source code. Since 2017, Jared has been working at Paradyme Management Inc. as a Senior JavaScript developer, where they are currently working on multiple projects and taking on additional responsibilities such as technical lead and documentation.

Jared Smith began their education at West Potomac High School, where they earned their high school diploma. After graduating from high school in an unspecified year, they attended Seguin High School. jared then pursued higher education at Central Texas College, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in General Studies from 2009 to 2010.

In 2014, Jared enrolled at American Military University, specializing in Environmental Science. During this time, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science. Additionally, in the same year, they obtained a Sustainability Certificate in the same field from the same institution.

Jared's educational journey continued at the University of Maryland Global Campus, where they pursued a degree in Software Engineering from 2017 to 2019. This marked the latest chapter in their academic pursuit, focusing on the field of Computer Software Engineering.
