Liam McDonnell

Liam McDonnell is a Senior Scientist with a focus on researching 2D materials, specifically in the characterization of semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides using resonance Raman spectroscopy. They are currently employed at Paragraf, where they previously held the position of Scientist from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Southampton, contributing to projects on infrared detectors and advanced materials. Liam earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Resonance Raman Spectroscopy from the University of Southampton, where they also completed a Master of Physics (MPhys) with First Class Honours. Recently, their paper on phonon scattering in monolayers was accepted for publication in IOP 2D Materials.
