Brittany Velo, PE, is a seasoned designer specializing in rail engineering, with extensive experience in both freight and transit systems. Currently serving as the Greater Washington Transit Group Lead and Rail Design Engineer at Parametrix since September 2017, Brittany has contributed to various rail design projects, including streetcars, light rail, and intermodal facilities. Prior to this, Brittany worked at HDR from February 2011 to August 2017 as a Rail Design Engineer. Brittany's career began as a CATS Engineering Apprentice with the City of Charlotte, where formal documentation for the South Corridor Light Rail was prepared, and engineering documents for the LYNX Blue Line Extension Light Rail were reviewed and edited. Brittany holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
