Jack Mai has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning research, imaging science, and research engineering. Jack is currently working as a Machine Learning Research Scientist at Paravision since May 2021. Prior to that, from August 2017 to May 2021, they worked as a Senior Imaging Scientist at LUCID Vision Labs, Inc. Before that, they served as a Senior Research Engineer at Point Grey (Now FLIR Systems) from May 2012 to August 2017.
Jack also has a strong academic background as a Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia. Jack completed their Ph.D. research from September 2007 to June 2012, focusing on bit-depth scalable video coding, high dynamic range (HDR) image and video processing, such as tone-mapping. Jack also worked as a Research Assistant for their Master of Applied Science from September 2005 to August 2007.
Jack Mai obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in the same field at the same institution from 2005 to 2007. Jack continued their academic pursuits and completed their doctorate, earning a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia from 2007 to 2012.
